Set along Hainan’s southern coastline facing the warm South China Sea, the Westin Resort is part of an extravagant development at Haitang Bay that features over 20 high end resort destinations located along the shoreline. The project includes a 300-key luxury hotel, an exclusive club, a large conference center, and a residential community comprised of time shares, single family dwellings and luxury villas. The centerpiece of the resort is a network of interconnected, lushly landscaped pools that integrate the core resort amenities from the main hotel to the sea. The landscaped sanctuaries within this core offer quiet relaxation and refuge for guests.

The swimming venues include a sand bottom children’s pool, a grand central pool with swim-up bar and shaded wet chaise lounge ledges, a lazy river, a beach pool and bar, water-side cabanas and a variety of hot spas placed throughout the park-like grounds of the resort bringing respite from the warm climate. Landscape themes echo the contemporary architecture and its narrative, which traces Hainan’s dramatic mineral-rich volcanic origins and the extraordinary role of the water droplet in shaping the land over time. Destructive yet rejuvenating and pure, the story of water is presented in a rich palette of hues ranging from cool aquas to deep cobalts -- from the pools to the guest rooms.
