Belt Collins wins 2 ASCE OCEA Awards!

This year Belt Collins submitted an entry to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Hawai‘i Section for the 2019 Hawai‘i Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement (OCEA) Awards, which honors the best and brightest achievements within the local civil engineering industry.  There are 11 award categories and awards may be given in all categories if sufficient and worthy nominations are received.  A select panel of judges determines the award winner for each category and then picks the overall Grand Award Winner.  The project BCH submitted was selected as the 2019 Best Special Project and then later received the 2019 OCEA Grand Award.

The project BCH submitted was the Keauhou Beach Hotel Demolition, which was unique in that it required demolition of a 7-story hotel that was partially built over tidal pools teeming with sea life.

BCH Project Manager Eric Tamashiro was there to make a short presentation and accept the award with the client, Kamehameha Schools, and the contractor, Kiewit Building Group.  Congratulations to the project team for their hard work on such a unique project!
