We shape sustainable outdoor environments that touch people’s lives and transform communities here and around the world.
Started in Honolulu by civil engineer Robert M. Belt and planner Walter K. Collins, the founders had a vision for design and grew the firm into the interdisciplinary one it is today.
Carrying forward the legacy of our founders, we support our greatest asset, our employees, to continue the vision established by Robert Belt and Walter Collins over 66 years ago — to build trust and maintain relationships with our clients to help them realize their visions.
Integrity, Innovation, Excellence, Collaboration, Passion, and Motivation are the values that drive what we do.
Founded in Hawai‘i in 1953, we were one of the first consulting firms to integrate resort master planning and design. After developing the first integrated resort master plan for Kā‘anapali Beach Resort in 1955, we soon became recognized as an innovator and leader in destination tourism, paving the way for our expansion into Asia and the Pacific region.
Our employees are our most important asset. We provide ongoing staff mentoring to instill the values and vision of our founders. Internal growth has been the key to our firm’s success and longevity.
The quality of our work on contracts with government agencies and private industry has consistently met or exceeded client expectations. A high percentage of our project volume represents repeat commissions, indicating long-term client satisfaction.
